It features a longitudinally sliding fore-end (pump-action reloading) and two tubular magazines parallel to the barrel, each holding 7 12 gauge and six 16-caliber rounds. The Kel Tec KSG is a smoothbore bullpup shotgun with a longitudinally sliding fore-end (pump-action reloading).
South African Neostead is externally and conceptually similar to Kel-Tec KSG, but structurally they are very different.
As a result, there is no autoloading system on the Kel Tec KSG shotgun. The shotgun’s bolt is attached to two metal rods that allow the forend to be slid longitudinally to be reloaded.

The Kel-Tec KSG has a Picatinny rail above the barrel for attaching optical and red dot sights. A Picatinny rail on the forend allows mounting a front grip, tactical flashlight, or laser designator.
